Up a Tree

'Morning Nap' Black Bear
Ontario
copyright Cynthia Guthrie

Looks like this bear is enjoying his zzz's....Bears often like to nap straddling a large branch, but this one found a large branch to settle his large bear behind into. I have added a few more highlights to this painting so will have to take another photograph to show the finished painting.

My plan is to exhibit these two 11x14" paintings at Bon Echo Art Show & Sale July 25-27. I will be camping in my tent trailer and exhibiting during the day. This will be my first exhibit at Bon Echo and I'm looking forward to the experience.
These scenes are very Canadian and typical in areas that are still less populated. It is so easy to take all of this for granted, but we have been given the responsibility to be care takers of our world. I hope we can rise to meet the challenge and show respect and care for this magnificent earth!

I've Returned....

'Niagara of the North - Kakabeka Falls'
Kakebeka Provincial Park
copyright Cynthia Guthrie
That was quite the hiatus from my blogspot, but I have been busy painting all the same! I'm continuing to try out the gel medium and the rock face was created in the same manner that I did for the 'Waterfalls from the West Coast Trail'.
Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park is located west of Thunder Bay Ontario and is a park located off of the Trans Canada Hwy. This waterfall drops a distance of 40 metres and is very impressive...more so than Niagara Falls since it is located within a natural setting.
