My work is an expression of my personality; like everyone I am a contradiction in terms - bright colours and energetic images are placed next to delicate shapes, vibrant subjects are painted into quiet scenes. Inevitable, nature is the subject of my artistic expression: as a wildlife enthusiast and obsessive gardener, I am drawn to it. I endeavor to create an intimacy between the viewer and the subject I present.

MAZINAW LAKE & ROCK @ BON ECHO
Finished!!....(but I think I need to take the picture with more lighting since the colours on the left side seem pale to me.) I decided that the colouring in the painting of yesterday looked like light was just appearing in the sky. Since the view is toward the east I decided that it was the beginning of the morning sunrise hence the pinks and yellows in the sky above the rock. These colours are reflected onto the calm water surface along with the rock reflection and shadows. I'm pleased with the end result and I hope you will enjoy it too.

Looking good. However, I think the photo of the painting might look better if you cropped it to leave out the background. What do you think?
Yes! The painting photo will be cropped when I feel it is completed. Since the critique at Tweed I needed to rework some of the aspects of the sky and water. For now I was creating that 'studio feeling' where I was actually working on it.
